Who We Are
The Atlantic Gateway Alliance is an industry-led coalition representing Atlantic transportation stakeholders, such as air, marine, road and rail carriers, logistics providers, shippers, producers, ports and terminals as well as tourism stakeholders.
Our purpose is to promote a pan-Atlantic Canada gateway strategy and ensure that Atlantic transportation stakeholders are fully integrated into government’s policy-making and priority-setting processes.
Our Mandate
The Atlantic Gateway Alliance’s mandate:
- To promote the need for a pan-Atlantic Canada gateway strategy.
- To ensure that transportation stakeholders from all Atlantic Provinces are involved in the development of policies and regulatory and investment priorities related to the Atlantic Gateway.
- To enhance Atlantic Canada’s transportation system and the competitiveness and efficiency of our road, rail, air and marine transportation systems.
- To contribute to the economic expansion of all Atlantic Provinces through the development of an inclusive and fair Atlantic Gateway strategy.
What We Do
The Atlantic Gateway Alliance:
- Promotes the interests of Atlantic transportation stakeholders to all levels of government.
- Ensures that governments are presented a credible industry-driven perspective on all matters relating to the Atlantic Gateway.
- Monitors ongoing and emerging issues influencing the development of the Atlantic Gateway and devises effective responses and strategies to key issues.
- Builds more positive industry-government relationships to assist all interested stakeholders in working with governments on development of the Atlantic Gateway strategy.
- Provides members with timely updates on government developments and current issues.
